The Mowhawk, or Mohican hairstyle shot to popularity in the noughties with hairstyles back then paving the way for new variations and adaptations being introduced such as Antoine Griezmann's latest creation. The classic footballer's Mohawk requires a dandruff-free* scalp to shave, buzz or fade the hair on both sides of your head, leaving a thick strip of hair on top. When styling the Mohawk, you can choose to spike this line of hair straight up using a strong gel or pomade or decide to use a blow dryer to leave it more natural-looking. The hair at the very top of your head should be long enough to mimic a Mohawk, but short enough that it can stand up without products if required.
LANDRY’S BARBER’S BRIEF – THE MODERN MOHAWK

- Use a blow dryer and your hands to shape the Mohawk, directing the hair to a consistent point at the top of the head.
- Reduce the length and weight of the hair on top using scissors. A barber using point-cuts or texturizing shears can add extra depth and texture here.

- Use hair irons to straighten and flatten the hair giving consistency whilst providing the Mohawk with extra height.

- Apply a styling gel or pomade to provide texture and definition whilst creating a smooth, glossy, long-standing finish.
